Title 18 U.S.C. § 2257 applies to visual depictions of actual human beings engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Because Darkseat's content is generated entirely by machine-learning models without the involvement of any real performer, model, or photograph of a real person, the recordkeeping requirements of § 2257 are inapplicable.
